Chief Executive and Founder
Frédéric’s mission is to revolutionize the way brands and consumers engage with one another, with the ultimate objective of transforming the market research industry into a real-time, mass market and social experience. Today ITWP helps companies anywhere in the world make clearer business decisions by bringing brands and people together via its streamlined research platform and the world’s largest social voting community, Toluna.com.
Frédéric, and his team, acquired several companies over the course of Toluna’s development, and has grown the company from one individual based in Paris, to a global company of more than 1,200 staff in 21 offices on 4 continents.
Frédéric is an industry visionary, and speaks often among industry leaders about the transformation of market research, impacts of automation and more.
Frédéric holds a Master’s degree in comparative jurisprudence from New York University and a diploma in advanced studies in international economic law from the Sorbonne in Paris (D.E.A.). He practiced as a French lawyer in the corporate department of Allen & Overy’s Paris office, before establishing Toluna in May 2000.
Chief Financial and Operations Officer
Pierre joined Toluna in 2015 and serves as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. Pierre comes to us with many years finance experience and was previously the Investment Manager at Verlinvest, as well as Senior Consultant for Ernst & Young.
Chief Digital Officer
Phil Ahad, Senior Vice President of Digital Products is responsible for leading the vision, development and strategy for Toluna’s suite of digital market research products. He is passionate about identifying first look technology and trends that innovate companies, industries and business concepts. Phil has a broad range of experience in digital product leadership and marketing focusing on automation and disruption across all industry types. He has held senior leadership roles from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.
Under his leadership, Toluna’s digital products have been the fastest growing products in the market research industry and has established Toluna as the top organization for end-to-end market research technology and innovation.
Phil holds degrees in Decisions Science and Management Information Systems from George Mason University School of Business.
Chief Human Resources Officer
Having acquired strong skills in all areas of human resources because of the different functions exercised during my career, I continue my evolution with the obsession to transform HR practice which must increasingly be the partner of the business and bring the company a real added value.
This transformation requires working on the organizations, the dynamics of the teams, the digitalization of the profession and above all a true agility in all activities.
As CHRO, I have a clear vision of what I want to accomplish and how to gain buy-in from my peers and teams, while continuing to focus on market developments. The status quo is not an option!
Frank Smadja, PhD.
EVP, R&D and Technology
As Executive Vice President of Engineering, Frank Smadja leads the IT and engineering operations of Toluna utilizing his expertise in users’ communities and innovative applications and services. He also brings with him the unique business perspective of having co-founded two successful startups: RawSugar, an early social bookmarking site, and ASAPNews, an internet news aggregator, which was acquired by Elron Software in 2003.
Earlier experiences include a stint at Lehman Brothers as a senior software engineer developing information filtering solutions for news feeds and Bellcore as a research associate in computational linguistics.
Frank is a prolific writer and researcher, having authored more than 20 research papers and articles. He has also been a co-author on multiple patents for web and text mining technologies. He holds an Engineering degree, majoring in math and physics, from Ecole Centrale de Paris, an MSc (DEA) in Computer Science from Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris VI), and a PhD in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics from Columbia University
Managing Director, EMEA
Paul brings an abundance of digital technology experience and knowledge to his role as Managing Director, EMEA. After joining Toluna in 2013, Paul was tasked with growing Toluna’s UK business. Toluna experienced a sustained increase in both the number and depth of client relationships in the research and technology sectors. Before joining Toluna, I lead divisions at United Business Media in Hong Kong and Haymarket in London.
Managing Director, APAC
Before he joined Toluna in 2015 as Managing Director APAC, Ludovic Milet already had 20 years of market research industry experience. In his current role, Ludo is responsible for Toluna’s business strategy and execution across the Asia-Pacific region.
His market research background includes senior-level positions at GMI, where he was responsible for the Asia-Pacific region and GfK’s Retail and Technology Division (now called Consumer Choice) as Business Group Director working with decision-makers of leading organizations in the consumer electronics and home appliances industries throughout Europe and Asia-Pacific.
Ludo has a Master’s degree in Marketing and Corporate Finance from Sciences Po in Paris, France.
S. Jay Rampuria
EVP, Business Development
As Executive Vice President of Global Business Development, Jay Rampuria leads all business development strategy for the company. His focus is to drive long-term partnerships with the world's largest Advertisers, along with new product development through innovative client and data partnerships.
With nearly 20 years of leadership experience between Early Stage / Venture Backed Companies (RightNow, Island Data, Intelliseek/BuzzMetrics, and Unmetric), as well as, Large Enterprise Organizations (EDS, Nielsen, McKinsey, and Accenture), Jay brings considerable senior Sales and Account Management expertise in advertising, digital, social media, and text analytics, having partnered with some of the world's largest Brands and Agencies.
Before Toluna, Jay was Global Head of Client Development at Unmetric, where he led all commercial aspects of the business, including sales, major account management and partnerships across the world. Before that, he was a Partner within the Accenture’s Interactive business unit and prior to that helped to found and lead the Americas’ Sales and Account Management organization for NM Incite (a JV between Nielsen and McKinsey).
He is a graduate from the University of Oklahoma where he received a BBA in Finance and Management Information Systems (MIS).
EVP, Head of Global Operations
Mathilde is Executive Vice President of Global Operations at ITWP. Mathilde joined Toluna in 2005 and grew her team from 3 employees in a single location to around 700 team members worldwide. Mathilde has been instrumental in defining and implementing the company’s operations strategy, and has been actively involved in the due diligence and integration of four acquisitions.

Jerome joined the Toluna team in 2010, after 8 years leading the panel development for TNS Sofres in Paris. Jerome is responsible for the health of the Toluna panel and the strategic leading of its evolution.
